Accessibility as
infrastructure

The interface is not the system. The room is.
Policy

Accessibility isn't a feature

When accessibility is treated as a feature, it can be descoped. When it's infrastructure, it's the foundation everything else stands on. The distinction changes how agencies build, procure, and regulate technology.

Technology

Real-time communication for everyone

Video relay, direct video calling, accessible conferencing—the systems that make federal communication work for Deaf employees and the public aren't add-ons. They're how government meets its obligation.

Community

Leading from inside the system

DIG exists because Deaf professionals in government needed infrastructure for each other—mentorship, advocacy, visibility. Forty agencies. One network. Building power where the decisions get made.

National Association of the Deaf

58th Biennial
Conference

San Francisco · Late June–Early July 2026

Role

AV / Production Operational Lead
End-to-end audiovisual and production operations for the largest gathering of the American Deaf community.

Scale

National event, thousands of attendees
Plenary sessions, workshops, ceremonies, and community gatherings—all requiring seamless accessible production.

Why it matters

This isn't a conference. It's where the Deaf community convenes to set direction, celebrate culture, and build power. The production has to match the moment.

Infrastructure

Multi-venue AV coordination, live ASL production, captioning systems, broadcast-quality video—built Deaf-first from the ground up.
